An article in today's Washington Post looks at what it means for African-American political activists to be labeled a "Black Leader." Specifically, it looks at the way that being labeled a "Black Leader" carries the connotation that the person is anti-business, pro-labor, only interested in social programs, and not interested in development and business, and how that stereotype is confining some African-American politicians who want to move beyond Jesse Jackson-style politics.
