Has Anyone Seen Jay?

Jason Mewes, better known as Jay of Jay and Silent Bob, has not been seen by friends or family in more than 10 months. The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that he is a "fugitive from justice," with an outstanding $50,000 bench warrant issued after Mewes failed to show up for meetings with his probation officer late last year. In addition, the actor also missed a scheduled parole-violation hearing, tied to his pleading guilty to possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle. Mewes was sentenced to two years probation for that case in April 2000.

Sgt. Stryker, through whom I found this story, thinks this may be a hoax because of the part of the story that says, "friends suspect Mewes is either dead or hiding overseas--in a country without a U.S. extradition treaty agreement." Sgt. Stryker contends that this sounds too much like one of his movies, but unfortunately I think it is more likely attributable to an overzealous reporter. Come home if you are still out there Jay!
